Where It All Began For Winnie The Pooh

Pooh History

A.A. Milne's Pooh-books had been favorites of Walt Disney's daughters and it inspired Disney to bring Pooh to film in 1966. The Pooh films had proven to be more popular than any other Disney character.

Pooh's Story

The History of Winnie the Pooh.

A.A. Milne, inspireed by his young son began to write the poems and stories when the Very Young Christopher Robin was introduced to an American black bear named Winnie at the London Zoological Gardens. The bear was Christopher Robin's inspiration for calling his own teddy bear Winnie, Winnie the Pooh.

He started to write a series of books about Winnie the Pooh, his son Christopher Robin, and their friends in the 100-Acre-Wood. These other characters, such as Eeyore, Piglet, Tigger, Kanga and Roo were also based on stuffed animals belonging to Christopher Robin.

The characters, Rabbit and Owl, were based on animals that lived in the surrounding area of Milne's country home, Cotchford Farm in Ashdown Forest, Sussex. It is this area on which the 100-Acre-Wood was based.

All of these books were illustrated in a beautiful way by E.H. Shepard, which made the books even more magical.

The website of Pooh & Piglet's Fun Place was created in 2001 because of my love for Disney's Winnie the Pooh.

Back then, there were lots of Disney fan websites around, but though the years most have dissapeared.

So much has changed over the years...for the better. Web design has changed as well to keep up with all these amazing improvements.

Pooh and Piglet's History

I had considered closing this website like many other older websites have done, because some of the graphics and pages were getting so out of date. Instead, I decided to breathe new life into this old site. I started over with a brand new site design that uses current web standards.  This allows the website to adjust automatically to all screen sizes.

The Website is Hosted on a super fast and secure Virtual Private Server. Now the website runs more securely and efficiently which gives viewers a much better user experience. I have also included some newer special effects, better graphics, and larger images to share.

The whole purpose of having this website is to share the love of Winnie the Pooh and Friends with others. Hopefully it will still bring joy to those who visit it.
